Rangers end Colts unbeaten record
Donnie Charles went from hero to villain at Police Field yesterday as visiting Rangers brought Devonshire Colts? unbeaten season record to a grinding halt.
Charles converted the game?s only goal from the penalty spot in the fourth minute after Nazir Lowe was brought down in the area.
Colts created chances to equalise, but just couldn?t find a way past a stubborn Rangers? defence.
Charles then made his way to an early shower after being sent off for a second bookable offence on the hour.
Yet despite holding a numerical advantage, Colts failed to make the big breakthrough. And in the end they were left to lament a first loss of the season.
Henry Santucci and Shawn Brangman each scored twice to spearhead league leaders Ireland Rangers to a comfortable win over Somerset Eagles at Malabar.
Brangman converted from the penalty spot to put Rangers ahead, only for Darren Dowling to draw the teams level at the half.Brangman restored Rangers? lead with his second spotkick of the match after the restart, before an additional brace from Santucci and another goal from the boot of Jonathan Bean put the match well beyond Eagles? reach.
Eagles? player/coach Kenny Thompson scored a late consolation for the White Hill club.
Wolves kept the pressure on leaders Ireland Rangers by keeping within three points with this emphatic four-goal triumph at Devonshire Rec.
Hopte Burrows inspired them to victory with a hat-trick, two goals in the opening half and one late in the game.
Burrows? first strike came after 10 minutes and Wolves went two-up after 30 minutes when he struck again.
Omar Allen got their third after 55 minutes before Burows came through with the fourth after 70 minutes.
