Jon Roberts bewildered Argentina's batsmen with a fine spell of bowling when he took seven for 20 to lead undefeated Canada to a comprehensive 136-run victory at Lord's.

Roberts' spell was the best bowling analysis of the Americas Under-19 Championship to date.

Chasing a winning target of 211, Argentina were making steady progress at 43 for one until Roberts came on the ball to change the tune of the game.

The slow right-arm medium pacer quickly captured the wicket of Agustin Casime who had made 15 and with the score now 43 for two the inspired attack took complete control.

Until Roberts came into the picture opening bowler Nathan Richards was the pick of the bowlers, taking the first wicket by uprooting the stumps of a delivery to Lucas Paterlini that moved viciously off the wicket.Richards was to finish with two for 21 off six overs.

Others in double figures for Argentina were Pablo Ferguson with 12 and Pablo Ryan with 14.

Earlier Canada were made to proceed cautiously after losing their first four wickets for 83. But stability was to come later with some timely knocks from the middle and lower-order batsmen.

Glen Roberts was top scorer with 31 while opener Aneel Naught followed on 28. Devin Pershuad struck 27, Jason Sandher and Paul Ziesmann were both undefeated on 25 and Nathan Richards contributed 18.

Esteben MacDermott was the top Argentina bowler with three for 41 off 10 overs with one maiden.

Combined XI 46

Cayman Islands 47-1

Cayman Island made short work of Combined, beating them by nine wickets at Wellington Oval.

Combined were dismissed in only 18.3 overs with their batsmen finding the bowling of medium pacer and skipper Ronald Ebanks unsettling. Ebanks finished with five for eight off just four overs while Dwight Rivers assisted by snatching three for 15 off five overs.

With the bowlers dominating from start to finish no Combined batsman managed to stay long enough to reach double figures, openers Anthony Mykelt and Steve Flowers being top scorers with seven apiece, putting on 10 for the first wicket.

Cayman needed just 10.1 overs to record victory.

Openers Daniel Morris (12) and Greg Ebanks 19 not out started the innings off by putting on 26 and then Joseph Kirkconnell (6 not out) joined Ebanks to steer the team to victory.
