Sims has a bad week
After two consecutive weeks of success on the greens, Bermudian Michael Sims suffered a bad week "at the office", writes gayle Alleyne.
On Tuesday, he failed to qualify for a Buy.Com tournament - the Utah Classic - and, two days later, missed the cut in a New England Pro Tour event, the Captain's Open.
In his Buy.Com qualifier, which took place on Tuesday rather than the accustomed Monday because of the Labour Day holiday, the rookie pro golfer shot one-over 73. Then, in the first and second rounds of the Captain's Open, being held in Brewster, Maine, he shot 73 and 77 (par 72) respectively for a total of six-over 150. The cut was made at two-over 144.
Sims (23) is currently 26th on the New England Pro Tour's money list with earnings of $5,817 from four tournaments.
