Sims in complete freefall
Michael Sims continued his remarkably inconsistent season, shooting an incredible 12-over par 84 yesterday to fall right out of contention in the Fallsview Casino Resort Pro Am Classic.
Having gone into the third round of the $100,000 tournament tied for sixth place after shooting a 69, Sims plummeted the entire length of the leaderboard to finish the third round at the Grand Niagara GC course tied for 59th place ? 22 shots off the lead at ten-over for the three rounds.
As things stand, if Sims can?t recover in today?s final round, he appears set to pick up no more than around $300 Canadian, enough to push maybe just a single place up the order of merit with two tournaments left.
He is one shot off dead last in this event having recorded the highest total of the day ? nearly ten shots more than his stroke average for his rookie tour on the Canadian Tour.
