Patrick Singleton has qualified for the Calgary leg of the luge World Cup.
The Bermudian, who will be representing the Island at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah next year, easily met the standard for the weekend event.
Speaking from Canada, Singleton, who qualified on his first run, said: "I had to make seven percent of the fastest time. So if someone does 45 seconds I have to be within two and a half seconds of that."
A confident Singleton said he was racing well within himself.
"Nowadays on a fast track I don't even worry about qualifying, unless the weather is playing a part," he said.
