Bermudian sailor Peter Bromby made a good start to this year's Star European Championship, placing fourth out of 62 in yesterday's opening race.

Dutch competitor Mark Neeleman won the lone race in Cascais, Portugal, to lead the early standings while Germany's Michael Koch was second and Roberto Benamati of Italy, third.

Bromby, who finished fourth in last month's pre-Olympic regatta in Greece, is accompanied by Martin Siese as his crew.
