As I read the article in your paper this weekend regarding the Minister, Dale Butler, looking into the changing of the Bermuda Cricket Board of Control to the Bermuda Cricket Board, I could not help but think of two aspects of that article that came into my mind. Let me explain.

Dear Sir,

As I read the article in your paper this weekend regarding the Minister, Dale Butler, looking into the changing of the Bermuda Cricket Board of Control to the Bermuda Cricket Board, I could not help but think of two aspects of that article that came into my mind. Let me explain.

First, Bermuda must be the only place in the world where anyone can come up to a Government official and present a problem to them and they just run with it.

If, in fact, this information is correct or if he wanted to pursue this matter, then surely there must be many avenues to go through before it reaches him.

The minister has to run this country and he is going to waste his time on something as trivial as a name change, that in fact happened almost three years ago? Come on minister, better sense must prevail.

This brings me to my next point. I am constantly hearing this man Randolph (Mutt) Lawrence's name being mentioned whenever something negative concerning cricket is said in your paper.

After gathering some information on this man, which is very easy in Bermuda, I understand he has, in the past, been on the committee with the cricket Board.

He obviously has an axe to grind concerning the Board. To bring up the name change after three years is an example of this man's displeasure towards the present Board.

Can I suggest the Board give this man an appreciation plaque and tell him he was too good for the Board for the ‘70s and ‘80s and maybe a story in the local newspaper of how wonderful he was and maybe he might go away.

To the present Board members, I say keep up the good work and go forward.

You have achieved what no other Board has done in 100 years. With success will come the Mutt's of this world who will sow the seeds of discord and there will be many more to rear their ugly heads before the day is done. Just sit back and see whose names begin to appear.

I can almost assure you the names will come from past members of the Board and former cricketers. Let's see.
