It?s Trojans against Eagles as the FA Cup gets serious.

The two Somerset sides will go head to head in one of the most intriguing second round ties of the Island?s premier knock-out competition.

Trojans, still convinced they are a Premier side on a sabbatical in Division One, will get chance to test their credentials against Eagles in what should be a bruising West End derby.

?We take ourselves seriously and think we have a chance,? said Somerset assistant coach Paul Scope, who attended yesterday?s draw at Flanagans Sports Bar on Front Street.

?If we are going to have to play a Premier team, then a West End derby is our preferred fixture.

?We see ourselves as a Premier team who just happen to play in Division One and we will be keen to show what we can do in this game.?

Scope, who himself played for part-timers St Albans in the English FA Cup when they defeated professional outfit Crewe, added that his side were playing well this year and that the tie with their neighbours would be ?a very tight, hard-fought game?.

Meanwhile, Eagles coach Gary (Tuba) Mallory felt that his side should have the upper-hand but was aware that the magic of the FA Cup could change everything.

?It comes down to what happens on the day, which is what makes the cup exciting,? said Mallory, whose side waltzed through the previous round with a 10-0 drubbing of Pest Control last Sunday.

?It will be about who wants it more and, in a derby game, really anything can happen. It should be a good game with both teams having something to prove to each other.?

At least two Premier sides will not be in the hat for the quarter-final draw as Dandy Town have been drawn against North Village and Southampton Rangers take on Boulevard in the February 1 fixtures.

Dandy Town, currently leading the Premier division, face a tough test against last year?s winners North Village but talk of the double is rife, and has been all year.

?It is not quite the draw we wanted, but if you are going to win the tournament you are going to have to play the top sides at some point,? said club president Calvin Blankendal.

?If we play how we are capable of doing, then we would be hopeful of putting something together.

?We talked about the double (league and cup) before the season started and there is a good vibe and a good feel here. But talk is talk and the double is the double.?

Last year?s beaten finalists Prospect take on St. George?s, while giant killers Key West Rangers have been rewarded with a visit to PHC and St. David?s take on Commercial B outfit Vasco.

The other bottom division side in the competition, Valley, meet Premier side Devonshire Cougars.

In the eighth and final tie, Devonshire Colts take on Tuff Dogs ? details on times and venues will be decided nearer the time.
