Substituted again! It's becoming a worry
I'm starting to wonder if I'll get to see the end of a match.
In the past few games I have had to make way for a player on the bench after 60 minutes or so and the situation was the same on Sunday.
We beat Norwich 3-1, even though we were down to 10 men after 11 minutes when Danny Tiatto was sent off, but I didn't get to see out the full game.
I was disappointed to come off but I understand the manager has his reasons, either tactical or otherwise, and you just have to get on with it.
That said, it is beginning to play on my mind now because I have come off in the last five or six games.
Every time I run out now I am thinking I am going to be substituted.
It's come to the point now that I'm thinking I've got 60 minutes to come up with a goal in order to stay on when I should be thinking about my game over 90 minutes.
Prior to the Sheffield United game when I went about four games without scoring I had been finding the back of the net, and on several occasions the goals came in the latter part of the match.
Against Grimsby I scored in the 88th or 89th minute and before that I think the previous three goals came around 70 minutes-plus. I wasn't playing particularly well, or as well as I have in the last three or four games, but I scored late goals.
Since then, apart from the Sheffield United game, where I lasted about 85 minutes, I have come off with at least 25 minutes to go.
It makes you start to think that after 60 minutes your number is up. The disappointing thing for me is that the manager is saying I am playing well but if that is the case then why am I not staying on?
All I can do is keep going and show the manager what I can do on the pitch.
After our win at the weekend, in which I set up one of the goals and won a penalty for another, we maintained our three-point lead at the top of the First Division.
I used to think that being in second or third was the best place to be. The reason being because when you are top everyone's attention is on you and they go all out to stop you.
But when you are at Manchester City, because of the club we are and the fact we are in the First Division, teams raise their game against you regardless of what position you are in.
So as far as I am concerned being at the top is where we want to be and we will be looking for another three points against Watford this weekend to keep us there.
