Swim pair set for Games

Bermudian swimmers Kiera Aitken and Graham Smith have joined Ronald Cowen as qualifiers for next year's Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England, following a series of outstanding performances in Halifax, Nova Scotia over the weekend.

Competing at the Atlantic Invitational meet at Dalhousie University, both competitors smashed national and age group records while at the same time meeting the Games qualifying standard.

Aitken was clocked in 59.78 seconds for the 100 metres freestyle, 1:05.72 for the 100m backstroke, 20.69 for the 50m freestyle and 30.01 for the 50m backstroke.

Smith made his mark in the 200m breaststroke with a qualifying time of 2:21.51.
