Thank you for feeding me with such support
The crowd were absolutely brilliant on Saturday.
The Southend fans never stopped singing all night. It?s quite a trip up to Rotherham but hats off to them, they were noisy the whole time.
But they weren?t the only ones there. A whole load of Man City fans came along as well with goat masks and there was even a Bermuda flag with ?Feed the Goat? written on it.
I tell you what I was desperate to score for them, probably more than I have been all season. It?s great especially at this time in my career to get such unbelievable support ? those all guys deserved a big thank you.
It?s just a shame I couldn?t score for them.
But even though I didn?t hit the net, our other strikers did and we got another win.
To get up to second is incredible, I think people are surprised by the run we are on but we have a great set of lads and great team spirit.
Rotherham is always a tough place to go and get a result and we played absolutely brilliantly first half.
We got up a couple of goals and we really deserved it.
The crowds were getting on their backs a bit, booing them and that, and I think we all thought we?d won the game and probably took our feet of the pedal a little bit.
They came back with a couple of goals but we talked about it at half time and went out there determined to get our three points.
Wayne (Gray) got a goal and then we had another penalty.
Now Wayne and I had talked about the penalty thing after I?d scored one last week and I think he was a bit worried I was going to try and take all of them.
We?d spoken about it at training and I said ?don?t worry, Wayne, if you are on the pitch they are all yours?.
I was down to take the penalties because Wayne was on the bench at the start and when we did win the penalty he went to the ball and gave me a look which sort of said ?you can?t change your mind now, mate?.
But good on him, he put the ball down and stuck it in.
