Title holders have it easy
Undefeated Western Stars kick off the defence of their Central Counties title today at St.John's Field against perennial First Division minnows Social Club.
Already through to both the Camel Cup and Combined Knockout finals, Stars will be heavily favoured to retain the only piece of silverware they captured last season and advance to the second round of the competition.
Indeed, there's even a question mark over whether unpredictable Social Club will show up!
Turning to tomorrow's Premier Division schedule, Bermuda Cricket Board of Control will no doubt be hoping the dust has settled after last weekend's debacles at both Wellington and Southampton Ovals where angry exchanges between players were witnessed.
Rejuvenated league champions St. David's emerged victorious last weekend during an ill-tempered affair against neighbours St.George's and now Clay Smith and company will attempt to inflict a similar fate upon injury-riddled Bailey's Bay at Sea Breeze Oval.
However, their hosts will be looking to stop the rot and get their own season back on track.
In the day's other marquee match-up, Western Stars find themselves facing an unpredictable St.George's outfit at St. John's Field.
St. George's will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's loss to St.David's, but could have their work cut out for them against Stars who have still to taste defeat.
Cleveland host Somerset Cricket Club at Wellington Oval in yet another interesting match-up, while Southampton will be looking to keep pace with Stars at the top of the Premier Division when they entertain Flatts at Southampton Oval.
In First Division action, Willow Cuts are set to do battle with Police at Somerset Cricket Club. Police are coming off a stunning loss to PHC last Sunday and shouldn't expect to find the going any easier against Cuts who were inactive last weekend.
PHC, meanwhile, will be looking to build on last week's shock triumph by defeating Warwick at White Hill Field.
However, Warwick will also be attempting to make a good run for promotion before coach Allan Douglas heads overseas for studies.
Devonshire and Somerset Bridge square off at Devonshire Rec.
All matches begin at 12 noon.
