Town on fire as they put five past Zebras
Dandy Town 5 PHC 3
Resurgent Dandy Town toppled Premier Division league leaders PHC in an eight-goal thriller at St.John's Field yesterday.
Hornets romped to a three-goal lead at the interval through goals from Nakia Wells, Lynn Tucker and a Jevon Sealey own goal.
Wells' opener saw him finish smartly from a Lashun Dill cross before Tucker extended the lead with a crisp strike from Kevin Hurdle's measured knock down.
Hornets' third goal had an element of fortune about it when Sealey tried to put Robinson's cross out for a corner but only managed to hack it into his own net.
Despite having a mountain to climb, PHC showed plenty of never-say-die spirit as they fought back with two quickfire goals after the break from Cecoy Robinson and Lloyd Holder.
But just when it seemed as though the pendulum was swinging in Zebras' favour their goalkeeper, Raymond Glasford somehow fumbled Naki Wells' snapshot into the path of Tucker to fire home into an empty net. It was the defining moment of the thoroughly enthralling encounter.
Any chance the visitors had of clawing their way back into the game then went up in smoke when Glasford made another howler, inexplicably letting a weak Wells' effort squirm under his body as the near post.
Zebras coach Kyle Lightbourne reeled the changes bringing on the lively Kevin Lambe and veteran Kenny Mills in a final throw of the dice.
The move paid dividends almost immediately when the substitutes combined for PHC's third goal of the game. A delightful right wing cross from Lambe caused havoc in the Hornets' box with Mills using his brute strength and force to bundle the bouncing ball into the net from close range.
Mills pulled his hamstring in the process and could do little more than hobble around the pitch for the remainder of the match.
PHC can never be accused of lacking heart, and still they attacked Hornets as they endeavoured to gain a foothold back in the game.
In the final ten minutes they crafted three chances with Robinson forcing a fine save from Gibbons, Omar Shakir hitting the post and venomous free-kick, while Lambe had the ball in the back of net but was deemed to be offside.

Somerset Trojans 1 Southampton Rangers 2
Somerset Trojans suffered a disapointing defeat at home against Southampton Rangers yesterday.
Jahnai Bean and Keimon Simons gave the visitors of two-goal lead, but Trojans pulled one back from the penalty spot which 'keeper Andrew Jjombwe converted.
Rangers' 'keeper Jason Smith saved Tahj Wade's first effort but was deemed to have moved before the kick was re-taken.
Wade then stepped aside for Jjombwe to fire home from the spot.
