Under-20s suffer first game defeat
Bermuda?s Under-20 footballers were beaten 2-0 in the first of their three games in the Caribbean Zone World Cup qualification tournament in Jamaica on Saturday.
Two goals from Justin St. Clair gave St. Lucia the victory and Bermuda coach Kenny Thompson will be looking for a better result from his young charges against Antigua and Barbuda this afternoon.
The latter were beaten 12-0 by Jamaica over the weekend, which indicates Bermuda should have a good chance of victory ? although their chances of qualification remain slim.
Only one team progresses from the one-week qualification tournament which is taking place mainly in Spanish Town?s Prison Oval ground with Bermuda still to take on host nation Jamaica, earmarked by Thompson before the tournament as easily the strongest team competing.
