Tomorrow's Charity Cup clash between North Village and Devonshire Colts is, on paper at least, a potentially exciting match-up.

League champions Village, given their dominance over the past two seasons, will no doubt enter the match at BAA Field as favourites to hold onto the silverware. And according to coach Scott Morton, his side, who defeated Devonshire Cougars 2-0 in last year's curtain raiser, are "raring to go".

"We know Colts will definitely come prepared," warned Morton. "So we will have to show them some respect and then just deal with things on the day. But my boys are raring to go and can't wait to get on with it."

The match was originally scheduled for last Saturday night at the same venue but fell victim to devastation left behind by Hurricane Fabian.

There will be a few noticeable changes to Village's line-up as Dwayne (Streaker) Adams, Domico Coddington and former captain Randy Spence have all moved on to newer pastures. Spence lines up against his former team.

But this, Morton insisted, shouldn't pose any real problems to his team given the abundance of talent still at his disposal.

"We will be using some of our younger players to see how they cope in pressure situations with our experienced players," he said. "But we have adequate replacements and we will be using this match as a building block towards other things we would like to implement in the team."

With the likes of brothers Kevin, Keith and Kentoine Jennings, Ralph Bean Jr and the proficient Clay Smith around, the departures of Adams, Spence and Coddington shouldn't do much to disrupt the team's chemistry.

However, Village are coming up against a Colts side bolstered by the return of livewire striker Marvin Belboda.

The powerful forward has returned from a brief stint with Somerset Trojans and is now expected to lead the charge up front alongside the lethal Aljame Zuill who carried much of the load last season.

It is unclear whether or not agile `keeper Cymande Davis, Jamar Dill, Julian Francis and Lloyd Holder - who all obtained releases but have yet to transfer - have had a change of heart and decided to hang around for another season with the reigning Martonmere Cup champions.

Tomorrow's all-Premier Division match, which begins at 3 p.m., will be preceded by the Women's Charity Cup clash between league champions Rude Girls and FA Cup champions Hemisphere Royals which gets underway at 1 p.m.

Proceeds go to charities Agape House and Windreach.
