Virgil's 100m time gets him into Carifta Games team
Sprinter Kyle Virgil is the latest young athlete to reach the qualifying standard for the Carifta Games.
The 15-year-old recorded a time of 11.2 seconds in the boys under-17 100m at last weekend's track and field meet at the National Sports Centre.
He becomes the 14th athlete to meet the qualifying mark for the Games, which take place in St. Kitts in March.
Donna Watson, from the Bermuda Track and Field Association, said she hoped to take a team of athletes to an overseas meet to gain experience ahead of the Games.
Aaron Evans, Matthew Spring, Sean Trott, Jasmin Brunson, Tre Houston, Alexis Bean, Allison Outerbridge, Ryan Furbert, Kyla Bolden, Shuntae Hendrickson, Taylor Ashley-Bean, Ashley Berry and Megan Berry have already qualified.
The qualifying window for the Carifta Games remains open until just a few weeks before the event.
