Weekend Premier games postponed
Bermuda Football Association yesterday postponed all but one of this weekend?s Premier Division fixtures.
The matches involving North Village and Devonshire Cougars have been called off to ensure players from both clubs are fit and fully rested ahead of next Tuesday?s Martonmere Cup final at the National Sports Centre.
Village were due to meet Dandy Town at St.John?s Road while Cougars were scheduled to take on Somerset Eagles at Devonshire Rec.
The match involving Devonshire Colts and Southampton Rangers has also been postponed due to another event which is scheduled to take place at White Hill Field over the weekend.
Sunday?s postponed matches will now be played on November 23.
Now, only Premier Division clubs Hamilton Parish and Boulevard will see action over the weekend at Lord?s.
?What we?ve done is given both teams time off, not for any reasons of having to play too much football, but from a standpoint whereby we would like to have a quality final,? said BFA general secretary David Sabir yesterday.
?This means we would like to see both teams equally rested, and as such, ready to play at a high level on November 11.?
