Cricket fans may be able to watch ball-by-ball coverage of the upcoming VB Series in Australia.

The tri-nation One-Day tournament involving the hosts, the West Indies and Pakistan starts January 14 and runs until early February.

The Bermuda Broadcasting Company?s (BBC) chief executive officer Rick Richardson confirmed yesterday that they have been in discussions with the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) about showing the much-anticipated showdown between World Cup holders Australia and ICC Champions Trophy winners, the West Indies.

?We had talks before the end of the year with CMC on delivery and the cost factor and we?re still speaking with them. There has been no decision on it. It?s up in the air right now,? he said.

?When you?re talking about satellite delivery there?s a lot to take into consideration.

?It?s not cheap and it?s a consideration with each sporting event. There are possibilities with it. I don?t want to say it?s ruled out but we must have some critical discussions.?

Asked if the series would be pay-per-view or televised free on the terrestrial channels, Richardson replied: ?We would probably do a bit of both; a bit of free and a bit of pay-per-view. We?re working on it.?

He said he was awaiting programme manager Darlene Ming?s return from compassionate leave to discuss a few ?critical things? before finalising a decision by Friday.

The VB Series will see the teams playing each other three times before the top two face off in a best-of-three final, starting on February 4. The second final will be played two days later and, if necessary, the deciding third final will take place February 8.
