Women?s coach Brown eyes pro career
Rude Girls coach Vance Brown has enrolled at the English Football Association?s National Coaching School.
The UEFA B Licence coach will immerse himself in studies from August 22 to September 13 in the hope of securing certification which would enable him to coach globally.
In addition to coaching at Rude Girls, the reigning women?s FA Cup champions, Brown is also at the helm of the Island?s national women?s team and has played an integral role in the annual Girls Easter Football Clinic and various other girls? football camps since 2002.
The Co-Ed facility prison warden is currently preparing the Island?s women?s national team for a three-match series against Wilmington College in early August.
Brown?s life-long passion with football has also taken him to the 1999 Women?s World Cup and to various football symposiums in the US.
?I want to see how far I can go in coaching . . . whether it be coaching men or women. It has always been my dream since childhood to go as far as a can and to one day become a professional coach ? and obviously I want to have the qualifications,? said Brown.
He added: ?I am very excited and can?t wait to get there. England is one of the football capitals in the world and to go there to do a coaching course will be one of the highlights in my career. I have high expectations of going out there and completing the course.?
Brown is the younger brother of Somerset Trojans coach, Dennis, and has been involved in local football ? in various other capacities ? for the past 15 years.
