It was supposed to be an exciting opening night of Champions Cup football at the Den last night.

But for all but 22 minutes of this Premier Division Champions Cup clash between teams languishing at opposite ends of the league table, those gathered were instead treated to absolute champion's bore!

Zebras ? with five changes from last Sunday's squad that ousted Dandy Town from the FA Cup ? finally found a way past a stubborn Ian Raynor in goal after 67 minutes ? albeit with a bizarre strike by Antwon Russell who stood frozen yards out as a David Hunt low cross rebounded off his shin and trickled across the line.

Hunt then doubled Zebras lead by capitalising on his own rebound after his initial blast was parried by the 'keeper before late substitute Quincy Hunt leapt off the bench and grabbed his team's third and final tally with a thunderbolt from eight yards.

Eagles night was then perhaps best summoned up by the sight of Quinton DeShields' drive right on the stroke of full-time that crashed onto the crossbar.

In the night's opening First Division Champions Cup clash, super sub Ryan Nesbitt scored a 90th minute strike to hand Devonshire Colts a slim 1-0 win over St.David's in what proved to be a see-saw battle throughout.
