Khano Smith’s New England Revolution booked their place in the MLS Championship final thanks to a 1-0 win over DC United in Washington yesterday.

Striker Taylor Twellman scored scored the fourth-minute winner to put the Revs in their second consecutive final under Liverpool legend Steve Nicol.

Smith came on as a substitute mid-way through the second half and fired over the bar in the 73rd minute.

The Revs will play either the Houston Dynamo or the Colorado Rapids in the final, with the result of that game not in by press time last night.
