Lee nails–hat-trick as Australia trounce Bangladesh
CAPE TOWN (Reuters) — Brett Lee claimed the first international Twenty20 hat-trick to help restrict Bangladesh to 123-8 before Matthew Hayden (unbeaten on 73) powered Australia to a nine-wicket victory in their World Cup Group F match.
Lee tore the middle order apart in the 17th over once Bangladesh had been sent in to bat. He had Shakib al Hasan caught by Adam Gilchrist for 16, bowled Mashrafe Mortaza and then trapped Alok Kapali lbw for first ball noughts.
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said he did not want to dwell on the negatives after his team's ten-run loss to New Zealand in the opening match of the Super Eight stage of the Twenty20 World Cup.
India failed to chase down a target of 191 despite a ferocious start that saw openers Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag put on 76 off 37 balls.
