Malachi Jones has been stripped of the vice-captaincy of Bermuda's Under-19 national squad, currently competing at the Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia.
The Royal Gazette can confirm the teenage all-rounder, who claimed the prized scalp of India's Robin Uthappa with his first delivery at last year's World Cup in the Caribbean, was relieved of his duties as punishment for his outburst towards the Under-19 coaching staff during a recent practice match.
There are claims a recommendation had been made to have Jones sent home early from the tournament that got underway last weekend.
However, the proposal seemingly fell on deaf ears as Jones has featured in Bermuda's two World Cup matches against Bangladesh and England this week.
