Revs must sign off with win against Dallas
It's back to business for Revs tonight when we take on FC Dallas. It's our last match before a week's lull in fixtures and we need to sign off with a win.
You can catch the game on ESPN 2 at 9.30 p.m.
Although we've got a bit of time off it's not really like a vacation or anything. I mean, we'll be in training pretty much everyday preparing for the next match.
However, it will be good to grab some relaxation time and on Saturday a few of the players will be getting together to watch the crucial Chelsea v Manchester United match around someone's place or at a sports bar.
I'm the sort of guy who gets on with most guys in the team but I tend to hang out a lot with Shalrie Joseph and one of our new guys Rob Valentino - he's a good kid.
Taylor Twellman lives in downtown Boston so when we're in the area we'll often knock him up.
We've not made the best of starts to the season; I guess you could call it satisfactory. Historically Revs always make slow starts. We've only played two home games and you're never going to win all of your games when you're on the road.
I was content with our draw against New York Red Bulls last weekend, especially considering we were reduced to ten men for the second time this season. We had to shuffle our formation to a 4-4-1. We actually settled down and got our just rewards with a late equaliser from a free-kick.
To be honest the artificial surface at Giants Stadium isn't the best. The turf at our Gillette Stadium is ten times better - it's the best money can buy. There's a big difference between grass and artificial turf but if you invest in the top quality stuff then I'm all for it.
In the past I've recommended to Bermuda Football Association (BFA) that we install artificial turf in Bermuda because our pitches just can't cope with the constant wear and tear. I'm delighted that the association are laying artificial turf at Gym Field, it really is the way forward for us.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make the trip to the UK with the Bermuda national team. Revs have a lot of injuries and Steve Nicol isn't happy about me making the long journey before our game against Chicago Fire.
The flight would probably take its toll on my body and I respect the coach's decision. Of course I'm disappointed because I'd loved to have played against Chelsea reserves and I think it's a great opportunity for our players.
If it had been a World Cup qualifier then I would have been on the plane, but I guess this isn't a priority trip so I'll just have to sit it out.
I've got my fingers crossed for the Hogges on Saturday against Wilmington Hammerheads and I'm sure they'll bounce back from their heavy defeat to Charlotte Eagles.
They've just got to try and put that one to the back of their minds. It's in the past now and they can't afford to dwell too much on it.
I know for a fact they're a far better side than that result suggests.
I know they were missing a couple of key players like Omar Shakir and Kevin Richards and they'd have had an impact. Kevin, especially, is a massive player for the Island. I've known Kevin since our days at primary school and for me he's the ultimate competitor. He'll make a big difference to the Hogges team, no doubt about that.
See you at the corner flag!
