Tucker: We must do better
National coach Keith Tucker, right, was the first to admit last night that squandered chances came back to haunt his team big time against visiting St.Kitt's at the National Sports Centre (NSC).
Despite playing in spurts throughout, Tucker's men had ample chances to finish the job but repeatedly misfired when it looked easier to score, allowing their opponents to keep in contention.
"We had chances all the way through the game but you have to take them and take them early so that you can build confidence," Tucker lamented. "But we didn't do that. We gave away a goal and when they gave us opportunities we didn't put the ball in the net.
"But that's soccer and so now we will have to look at what we did right and what we did wrong and then go from there."
Despite trailing two goals at the half, Bermuda pulled their socks up after the break and eventually sliced the visitors lead in half. But in the end it proved to be another classic case of too little too late as the visitors hung on to the end.
"Although I wasn't pleased with our style of play I thought we had a good second- half," Tucker added. "I think we wore them down a bit, but they used the clock well.
"But there were some positives that we can take from this match, and you have to credit the guys for never giving up."
