North Village Community Club has received a cheque for $25,000 from Cable & Wireless who is celebrating its 10th anniversary sponsoring the club.

The club is celebrating their 50th anniversary and held multiple events throughout last month, including a black tie event, a fun day and a golf tournament. As part of a dual anniversary event, Cable & Wireless recently presented the club with the annual cheque.

"It's been a great partnership", said Eddie Saints, chief executive of Cable & Wireless, Bermuda Ltd.

"Throughout our 10 years of sponsorship, the club has set a high standard in our community, particularly with our youth. We take great pleasure in congratulating them on their 50th anniversary."

North Village Community Club has nine soccer teams, two netball teams, one softball team, one cricket team and one golf team. The number of members actively involved in one sport or more is more than 200, and range in age from five to 18.
