What Pierce said

The best: New York Giants' Antonio Pierce reacts to fans at a celebration rally yesterday at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Linebacker Antonio Pierce, who has a Bermudian father, gives some of his thoughts on the historic win and the people that made it happen.

'I couldn't be happier for Eli, with the way he's constantly taking all the criticism. You can't criticise the Super Bowl MVP.

'I didn't even know who that guy was, escaping the rush like that and breaking away. I think somebody gave him a booster'

- on Giants quarterback Eli Manning's leadership.

'We shocked the world, but not ourselves'

- on New York Giants Super Bowl victory over New England Patriots.

'I don't know if you can rattle him, but he had grass stains,'

- on the sacking of Pats' quarterback Tom Brady five times.

'The rules haven't changed. It's just how he's changed as a person. He made it a little bit easier to work for, a little bit easier to want to stay at work to watch film and be around him and do the extra things that good teams do.

'He actually lets you know he smiles and has cheekbones'

- on the mellowing out of Giants coach Tom Coughlin.
