Franks snatches a point for Warriors

Somerset Trojans took a step towards sealing down fourth place in the Premier Division when they claimed a point against bottom team St. David’s Warriors at BAA on Tuesday night in a 1-1 deadlock.

The two teams also battled to a 1-1 draw in their season-opener at Lord’s back on October 1.

Dion Stovell put the West Enders ahead 1-0 with a strike after 74 minutes. However the East Enders responded with an equaliser from Kiwon Franks with four minutes remaining.

Trojans and Dandy Town are challenging for fourth spot in the tables behind champions Devonshire Cougars, North Village Rams and Boulevard Blazers. The stage is now set for an interesting finale between Trojans and Town to determine who will win out — a contest which was postponed from last Sunday because of a water-logged pitch at St. John’s field.
