Bermuda proved they can mix it up with the big boys when they put their heads down and play the football they are capable of.

While the final result enabled the visiting Revs to extend their win streak over their hosts, unlike last weekend's blow out, the men from Boston were forced to sweat it out at the National Sports Centre (NSC) last night for the spoils.

But the final result could've easily been different had the returning Aljame Zuill and sub Cecoy Robinson both capitalised when put through.

Zuill in particular proved to be a thorn in the Revs' side with his predatory instincts in and around the box while the energetic Robinson kept the heat on after leaping from the bench during the closing stages of the match.

Revs prevailed on goals either side of the half from Kenny Mansally and Adam Christman.

Bermuda's impressive transformation became evident right from the kick off as they took the match to their opponents with a brand of football and air of confidence that for long spells made the Revs look, well, ordinary.

With the influential Kevin Richards keeping things tidy at the back and the returning Sammy Degraff, Keishan Bean, Domico Coddington and skipper Kwame Steede winning the battle in the middle of the park, Bermuda attacked in waves in search of the breakthrough.

But at the other end the Revs were also creating chances and, on a raid down the right side, took the lead for good when Mansally pounced on a deflected clearance and beat Timmy Figureido with a low drive to the back post.

Bermuda, though, fought on and nearly added parity to the score when a Damon Ming flick-on sent Zuill clear. But with only Matt Reis to beat, the veteran 'keeper showed just why he is considered among the best in the MLS, diving to his right to thwart the danger.

The hosts then dodged a bullet themselves when full-back Marquel Waldron cleared the line to deny Mansally.

That Bermuda got to the break trailing by a single goal owed much to veteran goalie Figureido who raced off his line twice to prevent the Revs from running away with the match.

Son of the soil Khano Smith, who had a quiet night by his own standards, swapped the captaincy of the Revs for the red jersey of Bermuda.

But his presence did little to stop the Revs from doubling their lead early in the second-half when the hosts paid the price for some clumsy defending.

What should've been a routine clearance culminated instead with sub 'keeper Dwayne Adams digging the ball out of the back of the net. With time and space at his leisure Degraff inexplicably turned the ball over deep in his own half, leaving the opportunistic Christman the simple task of slotting past Adams.

The Revs could've made things really messy during the latter stages after Zuill scuffed two more chances and Robinson's goalbound lob was cleared off the line.

But thanks to some late heroics between the uprights by Adams, Bermuda exited the NSC with their heads held high in defeat.
