I'm feeling confident about Cayman clash

The big game is just a few days away and I'm feeling confident about Bermuda's chances against Cayman Islands.

But we'll have to be smart and not try to go out there and win the match in the first ten minutes. If we don't concede then great and if we manage to win by two clear goals, even better.

It's vital to keep a clean sheet because that'll build our confidence and it's imperative to win your home leg.

For the first time since his appointment Keith Tucker will have a near full-strength squad to pick from and they'll be a lot more experience in our ranks. It's good to see Dwayne "Streaker" Adams back involved because he brings so much experience to the dressing room.

People forget he's only 35 and he's still in good condition. I think his presence will be a real asset and he'll definitely be pushing Timmy Figuerido, Jason Williams and Nigel Burgess. If your heads right then your age is not always such an issue.

The return of John Barry Nusum is also a major boost. It's important to have our players with professional experience available for the crucial games like World Cup qualifiers. In the past when a player with professional experience came back often there was a tendency for the other players to expect him to carry everything.

When I used to return for national team duty I felt some players thought they just had to give me the ball and then I'd do the rest. I'm sure Kyle Lightbourne will say the same. I found that difficult because I was used to an environment where players were responsible for their job. Everybody chipped regardless of whether you were the striker or the full-back, every player had a job to do. Sometimes I felt I was coaching while I was on the field and that distracted from my performance.

But I don't think that will be the case with John. A lot of other players also have a bit of pro-experience now through the Bermuda Hogges and each man will take responsibility for their position.

They'll all want to stand up and be counted on Sunday - that's the way it needs to be.

You can't have one man who's expected to cross, shoot and score!

I was bitterly disappointed to hear Khano Smith has been ruled out through injury. He'll be a real loss. Khano's really adjusted to the MLS and has started to show his true capabilities. Hopefully he he'll be back in time for the second leg.

Finally, I'm looking forward to seeing a packed National Sports Centre.

No one can say Bermudians don't come out and support their country for the big games.

I remember last time around against El Salvador the place was absolutely buzzing. I was gutted because I was in the stands with an injury and was desperate to be on the field.

But even so, it was still one of my most memorable experiences with the national team because the atmosphere was tremendous. I'm sure the fans will recreate that special atmosphere again.

I'll certainly be cheering them on before I go and cheer on Antonio Pierce in the Super Bowl. Let's hope it will be a great weekend for Bermudian sportsmen.
