Mariners, Gades in Shield final
Rugby action on the north field of the National Sports Centre tomorrow will see Mariners and Renegades clash in the men's Nichol Shield final, startimng at 2.30 p.m.
Renegades, led by their inspirational captain Pete Dunkerley and West Indian Sevens player Tom Healy, won their fifth straight league title earlier this month. But league success has come with a price as they have yet to win the cup in that time.
Mariners will take heart from the fact that they have beaten Renegades three times already this season and have lost just two games since Christmas.
And with expert finisher Luke Millard and burly prop Gary Brady in their ranks, the Greens will fancy their chances to make it four in a row this season.
The match will be preceded by the women's Scully Shield final at 1.30 p.m. which pits the winner of last night's replay between Mariners and Teachers against Renegades.
