Lashun Dill

No player polorises public opinion in Bermuda quite like Lashun Dill.

While many hail him as a mercurially gifted entertainer, his detractors view him as a wasted talent with a suspect work ethic.

Either way there's no doubting that the man they call "Drogba" is somewhat of an enigma.

Last season the leggy winger's fluctuating form reduced him to a bit part player on the periphery of proceedings for the Hogges.

Yet he did manage to finish the season strongly and enjoyed a personal champagne moment in Hogges penultimate match against Charlotte Eagles, scoring with a fizzing shot from distance.

The Dandy Town winger is known to excite and frustrate Shaun Goater is equal measure with the franchise's president positive Dill is not extracting the most from his raw gifted talent.

He has recently found himself bench by Hornets caretaker coach Scott Morton due to "tactical reasons" and was jettisoned from Bermuda's squad that beat against Cayman Islands last month.

But Dill should take heart from the private praise bestowed upon him by former Liverpool legend Steve Nicol when New England Revolution faced the Gombey Warriors during their pre-season.

Whether he can force his way into Hogges favoured 3-5-2 formation remains to be seen and he need to prove to the Hogges hierarchy he is fully motivated and committed to the cause.

Because when in full flow Dill is a "bums off seats" player and a pleasure to watch, with his happy feet capable of leading most USL-D2 full-backs to a merry dance.

But how much we see of him this summer will largely depend on Dill himself.

Domico Coddington

Domico Coddington posses the single attribute defenders dread more than any other - raw, blistering pace.

Because if he manages to get in behind his marker then unless he is up against Des Walker in his heyday Coddington is not going to be caught.

Raw, blistering pace was one quality according the Hogges desperately lacked last season and Coddington is seen as a possibly remedy for that deficiency.

His goalscoring performance while leading the line during Bermuda's historic victory against Colorado Rapids did not go unnoticed by the Hogges coaching staff.

And although he has been largely deployed as a winger for Devonshire Cougras, it's likely he will be used as more of a conventional striker for the Hogges this season who looking add greater longitude to their play.

Small in statue but big reputation on the Island, Coddington man was cruelly robbed of the chance to add to his notoriety and prove himself at the higher level with a foot injury.

Still only 23 years old, Coddington was once rated on a par with MLS star Khano Smith by some of Bermuda's fooballing fraternity and this seasonn will provide him with the opportunity to prove he is worthy of his hype.

Not a natural finisher, but a player who can be a real weapon for the Hogges and his return to full fitness almost resembles another new signing for the Hogges.

The question could be who will partner him in attack?

Kofi Dill

Bermuda Hogges frail defence of 2007 ensured their maiden season would always be struggle. Quite simple their foundations were built on sand.

Time and time again their expansive attacking play was betrayed by 'schoolboy' errors and fatal lapses in concentration in their defence.

Such aberrations may not always be punished at the domestic level but as the Hogges painfully discovered strikers in the USL-D2 are far less generous.

North Village talisman Kofi Dill will certainly help eradicate such back-line blunders and add some steely resolve to their back three.

It is certainly hard to imagine Dill, Omar Shakir and Kevin Richard being quite so prone to slip-ups and howlers as the class of 07'.

Yes, the Hogges very own 'Bermuda Triangle' should ensure that the goal against column has a far healthier complexion when the curtain comes down of their sophomore season.

While Coddington brings stealth and speed to the table, it is aerial ability, strength and leadership, which Dill adds to the mix.

Dill cuts a more a streamline figure these days and has a competitive nature and pride in his play, which should definitely raise standards in the dressing room.

The USL-D2 is known for its physicality and in that department, at least, Dill will not be lacking.

While his turn of speed may not be the sharpest that deficiency should be compensated from having Richards and Shakir either side of him, neither of who are slouches when it comes to a foot race.
