Veteran runner Mike Rickards was officially informed this week of his age-group victory at the prestigious Falmouth Road Race back in August.

The retired Police officer completed the course, measuring just over seven miles, in 57 minutes and 15 seconds to beat out 106 runners competing in the 65 to 69 age group.

Rickards was aware of his finishing time but wasn't officially informed of his triumph until this week in a race which attracts thousands of runners from around the world.
