Sixth defeat on road to World Cup
Namibia U19s 224 all out
Bermuda U19s 122 all out
(Bermuda lose by 102 runs)
Bermuda Under-19s brittle batsmen handed Namibia a convincing victory after collapsing once again in their final World Cup warm-up match yesterday.
Chasing Namibia's 224 runs, Bermuda were bowled out for 122 off just 37.4 overs with only Malachi Jones (30) and Regino Smith (24) offering any real resistance at the Selanger Turf Cricket Club in Malaysia.
The dismal batting display follows the team's capitulation against cricketing minnows Nepal earlier this week, when they were skittled out for a paltry 68 runs.
At least their bowlers showed some signs of penetration, bowling Namibia out off 41.3 overs with pace ace Jones doing the brunt of the damage with impressive figures of four wickets for 31 runs.
He was well supported by in-form seamer Jordan DeSilva who took two for 45, and spinner Rodney Trott who claimed two for 42.
But Namibia, who won the toss, responded by sweeping through Bermuda's batting with only four players managing to reach double figures.
The Islanders now face a talented Bangladesh side in their first World Cup match on Monday at the Bayuemas Oval.
