St. David's won the toss at the National Sports Centre and elected to field first, which seemed to be the correct decision as the opening bowlers quickly went about making the batsmen work for their runs.

Police had scored 13 runs when St.David's made the breakthrough. From then on in, it was a steady procession of Police batsmen going to and from the pavilion.

From 13 for one, it quickly became 27-2 and then 57 for three before skipper Gavin Aparicio set about building a partnership of 46 runs with James Celestine, before the former was sent back to the hut.

Once the prized wicket of Aparicio was in the bag, St. David's went about removing the remaining batsmen with minimal fuss, at 93 for four, 99 for five 103 for six and 106 for seven.

Police finished with 110 for eight off of their 20 overs, with Celestine scoring 51. Del Hollis was the pick of the St. David's bowlers, returning figures of four for 18 off 3.4 overs.

St. David's, chasing a reasonable total in 20/20 cricket, had to face Police's new opening bowling duo Treddie Simpson and former St. David's pace ace O'Brien Jr.

And it was O'Brien Jr who struck with the score at only two in his first over.

O'Brien Jr caused his ex-team-mates all sorts of problems, varying his line and length with the occasional short delivery to keep the batsmen awake.

He struck again with the score at 30 for one. But this was all Police could muster as the lack of wicket-taking support from the opposite end saw the game slip away from them.

In the end, St. David's pushed to the total with overs to spare, with Delyone Borden scoring 49, of their 111 runs. They lost just three wickets.

O'Brien Jr. had the best figures of the Police bowlers, claiming two wickets for 21 runs.

In the Eastern zone on Saturday at Lord's, St. David's won by nine runs using the Duckworth/Lewis System to defeat St.George's.

St. David's batted first, with Chris Foggo scoring 57 runs to help St. David's to 167 for four in their 20 overs. Greg Foggo was the pick of the bowlers for St. George's with figures of two for 18.

In reply St. George's were on 47 for three when the rain came and put an end to the match, with Herbie Bascome scoring 11 runs, while Delyone Borden took two for six for St. David's.

Also at Lord's on Saturday, Cleveland County won by 48 runs over Bailey's Bay as the two sides completed their respective 20/20 schedules.

Cleveland batted first and made 158 for five, with Aaron Adams scoring 64 runs. Jonathan Allen had figures of two for 24 for Bailey's Bay.

Bay scored 110 for three in their 20 overs with Mark Trott their top scorer with 28 runs, while Charles Richardson took two for 17 for Cleveland.

In the East Central zone at NSC, Young Men's Social Club won by two wickets over Flatts Victoria in a closely contested match.

Flatts Victoria batted first and posted 169 all out. Dean Minors and Regino Smith both top scored with 38 runs, while Charlie Marshall had a good day with the ball as he claimed three wickets for 23 runs.

The final of the 20/20 League will be held at the National Sports Centre (NSC) this Saturday.
