Skipper Sammy Robinson's superb all-round performance was still not enough to guarantee St. David's the Premier Division championship at Lord's on Saturday.

Robinson slammed 64 runs to lift the Islanders to 242 all out and then snatched five-wickets to restrict Flatts to 173 and hammer the final nail in their Eastern Counties rival's relegation coffin.

St. David's completed the season level on points with joint leaders Social Club but were pipped for the title by their Pembroke rivals in the two head-to-head meetings this season.

Vernon Eve and player/coach Dean Minors were Flatts' best performers. Eve took two for 35 while Minors stroked 47 in a losing cause.

Somerset 199; Cleveland County 200 for nine

Cleveland escaped with a narrow one-wicket win at Southampton Oval on Saturday to deny Somerset qualification for next season's Belco Cup.

Bermuda Under-19 spin sensation Tamauri Tucker was at his best with the ball, claiming three for 39 off eight overs to restrict the West Enders under the double century mark.

Wicketkeeper/batsman Jekon Edness led the Somerset resistance with a battling 54.

In reply Cleveland left it to late with skipper Jason Simons leading the run chase with a vital knock of 52.

Tucker's Bermuda Under-19 team-mate Greg Maybury's three for 28 was the pick of the Somerset bowling. Somerset's narrow defeat enabled champions Southampton Rangers to qualify for next season's Belco Cup competition despite coming up short against newly crowned league champions Social Club.

Western Stars 122; St.George's CC 125 for six

St. George's claimed the fourth and final Belco Cup spot after getting by relegated Western Stars by four-wickets at Wellington Oval yesterday.

Wicketkeeper/batsman Jason Anderson hammered 45 runs while medium pacer Rudell Pitcher seized three for 25 to ensure the East Enders finished the season on a winning note.

Stars skipper Justin Robinson hit 35 while the fast improving Machai Campbell led the visitor's bowling with impressive figures of five for 46.
