Trott made vice-captain of senior squad
Under-19 skipper Rodney Trott has been appointed vice-captain of the senior national squad, according to a statement released by Bermuda Cricket Board yesterday.
And a number of his Under-19 team-mates have also been promoted to the senior side - Jordan DeSilva, Tamauri Tucker, Dennico Hollis, Ryan Tyrrell, McLaren Smith and Kyle Hodsoll.
The squad of 23 were scheduled to start training last night with four sessions planned each week until the team's next international match.
Irving Romaine remains skipper and Janeiro Tucker is included in the squad although he is still on suspension from international duty.
National coach Gus Logie said: "Judging from our busy 2008 schedule, the training programme will take a lot of dedication, hard work and commitment from the players in order to ready themselves to compete at the level at which we strive for.
"The players who have been selected to train have made themselves available for this commitment.
"The squad is made up of a mixture of experienced and younger players and was selected with a view to the future."

Meanwhile, local official Lester Harnett has been selected by the ICC from the Regional A Panel of Umpires to officiate the Americas WCL Division Two Championship match to be held in Paramaribo, Suriname this week.
Both Randy Butler and George Francis were also invited to umpire, but both had to decline because of work commitments.
