We have our work cut out says Romaine

Skipper Irving Romaine did not need any reminding last night as to the magnitude of the task that awaits his team's remaining batsmen if they are to fulfil their Intercontinental Cup assignment with hosts the Netherlands with pride intact.

The tourists find themselves precariously placed at 51 for three - 176 runs in first innings arrears - against a Dutch team that will undoubtedly be looking to wrap things up when play resumes today.

"We definitely have our work cut out for us, but tomorrow is another day and we just have to occupy the crease and score some runs," a visibly consumed Romaine commented after spending the bulk of the day toiling away in the field.

"We still have two days left to play and are already down three wickets. We just have to bat session by session from here and hope for a positive outcome."

Despite the Dutch piling up the second biggest total at the VRA ground since Sri Lanka's one day record of 443 achieved in July of last year, Romaine, who scored an unbeaten 103 in Bermuda's first innings, heaped praise on his team-mates for the manner in which they persevered in the face of adversity.

"I thought the effort today in the field was excellent; the guys never put their heads down and fought through it all," he added. "And it was also great to see George (O'Brien) claim his first Intercontinental Cup five-wicket haul."
