Dandy Town all but solidified their spot in the Premier Division next year with this hard fought 2-1 win over Colts at Police Field yesterday.

Goals on either side of the interval by Heys Wolffe lifted Town over their opponents who responded with a sole Aljame Zuill strike f.rom the penalty spot.

On a day when Hornets knew that it was vital to take at least a share of the spoils, they took the lead in the 28th minute.

A gentle cross into Colts' penalty area had goalkeeper Khabir Dill in all sorts of trouble. He made a hash of his collection and the bounce of the ball caused it to pop off his chest and into the path of a streaking Wolffe.

The striker gathered himself and shrugged off tackles by a defender and the 'keeper, allowing him to fire into an empty net to make it 1-0.

From there on the game gathered momentum with both sides playing attacking football, Colts looking for an equaliser and Town aiming to seal matters before the half.

But in the 43rd minute, a needless tackle by a Hornets defender bought down Willis Ming in the area. A probing run by Ming wrong-footed his marker and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.

In their ranks, Colts have a deadly marksman in Zuill, and he had no mistake with the penalty, coolly placing his shot to 'keeper Kejon Sampson's left leaving the match all square.

The second half was no different from the first as both teams looked to be physical and fast on and off the ball. And it was no surprise when substitutes were called upon early in the half.

And it was Town sub Lashun Dill who worked with Wolffe to break the deadlock.

Wolffe, working hard througout the 90 minutes, stripped a Colts defender before releasing the ball into the path of the pacy Dill running down the flank.

Dill skipped his marker and the tackle, tip-toed to the byline and squared the ball back into the penalty area full of players from both sides.

Somehow the ball found Wolffe, who had slipped as he was lining up the shot and with one swing of the boot he fired home.

It was a winner Town fully deserved as Colts were left ball watching at times and were lucky not to concede more then they did.

Home fans tried to will their team on from the sidelines but the men from Devonshire couldn't fashion another opportunity.

The match died out to a series of long balls and tired legs chasing them as the Hornets saw out time.
