Women's World Cup now scheduled for February

Bermuda women's national team's cricket World Cup qualifiers in Pakistan will take place in February following independent security reports and discussions by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The qualifiers, originally scheduled for November 19 to 25, had to be postponed just weeks before the event due to security concerns when Pakistan's military ruler President Pervez Musharraf declared the country in a state of emergency.

The ICC has rescheduled the competition for February 18 to 25, 2008 in Pakistan. It will run at the same time as the Bermuda Under-19s World Cup campaign in Malaysia. The women's qualifiers involve eight teams including Ireland, Netherlands, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. The top two nations progress to the ICC Women's World Cup in Australia in 2009.
