Adams better record
the men's and women's divisions of the Five Flat Miles road race yesterday.
In-form Mark Perry, the winner of the inaugural race two years ago, equalled his record time of 25:36 to beat Neil De Ste Croix by almost a minute while Karen Adams clipped 12 seconds off her previous record when she was seventh overall in 28:33.
Kavin Smith, the defending men's champion, did not compete while last year's women's winner, Lynn Kynoch was 21st overall in 29:51.
Tracy Wright was third overall in 27:20 amongst the 171 finishers while Jeremy Ball was fourth in 27:39 and the first in the Masters division.
Maria Conroy Haydon was the second female, finishing 14th overall in 29:04 while Peggy Couper was the winner of the female masters division, 81st overall in 35:32.
Kalvin Bean was the male junior winner and Tiffany Eatherley the female junior winner.
