As a result of the sponsorship of Argonaut Limited the Bermuda Cricket Board of Control has obtained a `kwik cricket' kit for each primary school.
Kwik cricket is a kit of modified cricket equipment developed in Britain by the MCC, which enables skill practices and modified cricket games to be conducted in various settings, including indoors without danger to either the players or their surroundings.
The kits will be distributed at a course to be conducted for teachers by the national cricket coach Doug Ferguson on May 12-13 between 2.30 and 5.30 at the Dellwood School Assembly Hall.
In order to receive the kwik cricket kit at least one representative from each school must attend.
CYCLING CYC The Bermuda Bicycling Association (BBC) will be holding a Grand Prix Cycle Race May 9 and 10 at the United States Naval Annex starting at 8 a.m. on both days.
Riders will compete in the Time Trial and Criterium on the first day and a Road Race on the second. Entry forms are available at the Winner Edge and late entries will be accepted up until a half-hour before the start.
GOLF GLF The entry fee for the Bermuda Seniors Championships, which will be held at Belmont GC from May 29-31, is $95. Complete details should be at all clubs.
SOCCER SOC The English FA Cup final between Liverpool and Sunderland will air starting at 10.45 a.m. Saturday on ZBM Channel 9/Cable Channel 3.
SOFTBALL SOF There will be a meeting at the Young Men's Social Club on Monday for all those interested in playing softball for the Blue Sox during the upcoming season.
TARGET SHOOTING TAR Tony Paynter scored 190 out of 200 to win the weekly competition held by the Coral Reefs Rifle and Pistol Club at Prospect Range on Wednesday.
Nelson Simons was second on 189. Sinclair Rayner maintained his consistency by being named the top shooter for April.
