Berkeley, Smith spark parish win
the Bermuda Football Association Youth Leagues with Parish emerging 6-5 victors in a Mini-Minor A Division tussle on Saturday.
Andre Berkeley netted a hat-trick while Levar Smith scored twice and Mackie Crane once for Parish.
Jahmel Blakeney scored three times and Quinton Jones and Jason Dill one each for Colts who were hoping to inflict the season's first defeat on Parish. The score was 4-4 at the half.
Parish strengthened their hold on second place in the division, which is headed by North Village Reds. The Reds beat Boulevard Gold 5-0.
St. George's Blue moved into fifth place with a 2-1 win over lowly Hotels Gold. C.Johnston and D.Darrell scored in the second half to give the Blue a come-from-behind win. Cervio Cox opened the scoring for Hotels.
PHC Whites recorded their first win of the season, a 5-1 triumph over Somerset Reds, which lifted them to sixth place from ninth. Nasir Wade scored the lone goal for PHC.
The remaining A Division match saw Dandy Town Reds beat BAA Greens 3-0 to stay in fourth place.
In the B Division, Paget trounced St. David's 5-0 in a battle of the only teams with perfect records.
Both sides had seven wins from as many matches, but after goals from Kyhon Smith, Dion Stovell, Darren Harvey, Aronde Morris and Andrew Warren, Paget left themselves head of the class. The score was 1-0 at the half.
Southampton seized the opportunity to move into second place outright with a 4-2 win over Boulevard Reds. Darius Cox, Davon Cox, Jermaine Lightbourne and Kamon Tucker (penalty) scored for Southampton while Quincy Doers and Jahkeil Samuels replied for Boulevard.
PHC Blacks also moved past St. David's after an 11-0 drubbing of second-from-bottom St. George's Whites. Dawan Tucker scored four goals, and Michael Spence and Dennis Russell two apiece, while Darrien Ray, Kaven Santos and Fabio Divuolo contributed solo strikes.
Elsewhere, North Village Kids moved into ninth place with their second win of the season, a 6-1 result against Hotels Blue. Dandy Town Green beat Wolves Black 2-1, BAA Youth edged BAA Kids 3-2 and Devonshire Colts Whites drew 1-1 with Somerset Blues.
The top game in the Minor Division saw Wolves outplay North Village 3-0. John Barry Nusum, Vince Minors and Lamel Paynter made certain that Wolves leapfrogged over Village into second place.
