Bermuda Motocross Club will celebrate the Christmas holidays by hosting a team of three riders, mechanics, family members and a writer from one of the major

The main holiday event, the Champion of Champions Boxing Day Classic, will be repeated on New Year's Day with several of the same riders competing again.

The visiting team, who hail from the Owen Sound area north of Toronto, will spend 10 days on the Island. Tim Marks, owner of Titan Racing, visited some weeks ago and shared his knowledge of bike set-up and tuning, and will return as the point man for the visitors.

Zeb Dennis (14) comes with six championship wins in the 60/80 and 80 senior classes and he is the Canadian 2000 Junior Pro champion, having just won the Mountain Dew Freestyle show. He rides in both the 80cc and 125 classes. Nick Hill (18) and Ryan Gauld (22) are both top riders in the 125 class.

Last year's Boxing Day winners were Zahkie Iris in the 50cc class, Garry Cann in the 60cc and 80cc, Carlston Burgess Jr. in the 125 B and Craig Panchaud 125 cc.

TABLE TENNIS PP Eastern Stars upset league leaders BPSA 7-4 this week to throw the championship race wide open. The result, at St. George's Cricket Club, moved the East Enders onto eight points, within two of the top spot. They now hold a 4-2, won-loss record. BPSA stand on 10 points, while third-placed Prison Officers have six. BPSA led 2-0 with victories from Myron Piper and Alden Ray, but Kevin Lapsley got the ball moving the other way with a defeat of Mike Sterling. Derron Trott followed with victories over Sterling and Ray, while Craig Trott added more to the win column, beating Stirling and Piper.

Stars won both doubles to more than offset defeats by Lapsley to Piper and Ray.

The larger 40mm orange balls will be mandated for use in all competitions as of January 2, 2001.

The Bermuda Closed Championship, for registered league players only, will be held at CedarBridge Academy on January 20, starting at 11.00 a.m.
