Bermuda riders forced to settle for second place
of the Caribbean Equestrian Association's Junior Jumping Competition at the weekend.
The home team of Phillip Correia and Lindsay Sousa had to settle for second behind Barbadians Rhett Watson and Michelle Thompson at the National Equestrian Centre.
Trinidad and Tobago representatives, Ashley Costelloe and Adriana Comacho came in third after the two-day event, and Antiguans Frances Fuller and Zayanya Sebastian were fourth.
The Barbadian victory was due in the main to Watson's consistency over the weekend, which saw him top the individual rankings after four rounds.
Correia, of Inwood Stables, and Sousa, of Spicelands, were sixth and fifth respectively.
Guadeloupe and Jamaica are also involved in the event, but did not ride at the weekend because of the need to keep the competition down to four horses at any one time.
Prior to the weekend, Guadeloupe led the standings with Jamaica second, Antigua third and Bermuda fourth. Trinidad and Barbados had brought up the rear.
The final round will be held in Jamaica in November where Tiffany Thorne and Christy Holder will be carrying home hopes.
Up and over: Spicelands rider Lindsay Sousa and her mount clear a fence during the Caribbean Junior Jumping Comeptition.
