BFA host tour teams

finalists Devonshire Colts will all be in action this weekend as Bermuda Football Association entertain two touring soccer teams.

Tonight at BAA, some of the best players in the Commercial League will join forces to take on a combined Belgian and Dutch Navy team, that match kicking off at 7.00 p.m.

Then tomorrow, visiting Needham United from Boston, Massachusetts, will play the first of their two matches against the Bermuda Under-18s at White Hill Field (10.00 a.m.).

Their second game is on Sunday morning at the same time and venue against Devonshire Colts.

Needham are expected to provide tough opposition for both local sides, having enjoyed a successful history in the Boston area.

They've won the league title 10 times and were inducted into the Massachusetts Soccer Hall of Fame about five year ago.

On several occasions the club have reached the quarter-final stage of the US over-30 Cup and two years ago were triumphant in the National Soccer Hall of Fame tournament.

Needham's touring team is expected to be made up of former college players as well as some former professional and semi-professional players.

The current side includes former US national team player John Kerr, currently the head coach at Harvard University, Sam Koch, the head coach at the University of Massachusetts, and Bob Muscaro, assistant coach at Babson College.

Also on the roster will be Bermuda player Adam Outerbridge's high school coach, Mike Schafer, from Middlesex School.
