field championships last week, Brian Wellman received an added boost yesterday with the announcement that the Bank of Butterfield will continue sponsoring him.

This sponsorship will include covering expenses for his pre-Olympic training at a number of European meets. Wellman goes to Europe later this month to compete at meets in Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, England and France.

The Bermudian set things abuzz at the NCAAs as he helped the University of Arkansas emerge as overall winners. Wellman won the triple jump with a leap of 56'91 '' and had a potential world record jump ruled foul.

He remains one of the island's top hopes for a medal in Barcelona this summer.
