Brown boosted by signings
at the helm and the coach is asking for no less than this from the team this season.
The club's confidence has been influenced by their success in the transfer market when they picked up as many as six quality players with experience in Premier Division sides.
Players in this category are defenders Albert Caisey and Diallo Sharrieff from Vasco and Leroy Stevens from Boulevard, forwards Shaki Crockwell from Boulevard, Chae Simmons from St. David's and goalkeeper Corby Durrant from PHC.
With these in the fold success may not be guaranteed for the club from the outset, but the coach feels that their ranks have been considerably bolstered.
"I'm very pleased with our situation at Wolves going into the season, the squad does look good,'' said Brown. "This is my fifth season and each year we have made good improvement and what I want to tell the fans is that we have told the players that we intend to play well from back to front and if we do then we will have a tremendous season.
"The support of the fans at Wolves has always been great, I admired it before I got here and since I have had an opportunity to see things closer I am even more overwhelmed.'' Looking back at last season, Brown recalls how a lack of consistency led frustration at times with Wolves blowing opportunities to put their opponents away by fading during the second half of matches.
During pre and early season training he has reminded players of this, drumming into them the importance of preserving and maintaining their edge at all times until the final whistle is blown.
"One of my main goals was to get that point across along with the fact that we must work towards maintaining our focus and concentration on the total 90 minutes.
"Most matches last year we dominated teams for 60 minutes and for some apparent reason there was no consistency...it's a total 90-minute thing we must do to take us to another level,'' insisted the coach.
He added: "One thing that we were searching for this year was some experience to go along with the young players that we have, I think that was the big downfall in a lot of games last year. We dominated, but in the end our inexperience took its toll, especially when we played experienced teams like Dandy Town and a few others.
"We have picked up a few good signings and I expect a much improved side this time around.
"I am pretty pleased with the makeup of the squad at the moment, just looking at it it's pretty hard to pick a solid 11 right now, but that's a good headache to have, I would say.
"This year I am going to concentrate on keeping Nakia Smith up front, last year I more or less used him defence and midfield but he is going to be one of our main strikers this year along with Shaki, Chae and Nathan Webb -- we are pretty solid up there,'' he reckoned.
Like many other coaches Brown's priority is to see his team survive in the Premier Division, but he envisions making a spirited attempt every competition they enter.
"Naturally it's important to stay up but any competition we go in we are going in to win, that's for sure,'' he said.
