Casualties mount in ICC squad
pair of humbling defeats at the hands of the touring Marylebone Cricket Club.
Indeed the ICC Trophy squad have taken on the complexion of a MASH unit, with several of the 14-member side hobbled by injury.
The latest disaster struck youngster O.J. Pitcher, who was left favouring his right leg following a traffic accident on his way from St. David's to Somerset Cricket Club on Saturday. Young Pitcher was reportedly in collision with a car driven by an unknown female, with he and his bike coming out the worse for wear.
Dale Fox, the fastest of Bermuda's pace bowlers, arrived adorned with a heavily bandaged middle finger on his bowling hand. The finger was apparently cut as Fox slipped into a ditch last week while working.
Opening batsman Dennis Archer was the most obvious, as he continues to wear a cast on his right arm to stabilise a dislocated thumb, which, like Pitcher, was incurred during a traffic accident.
One member playing through pain is Clay Smith, who has a knee problem, but has employed the use of a brace for added support.
Of the three that have not been able to take to the pitch so far, Pitcher appears closest to resuming action, while Archer and Fox look longer term absentees.
