Dandy Town 1, Boulevard 1 (after extra time)
Dandy Town nor Boulevard were able to come up with the crucial winner before a huge crowd at Devonshire Rec.
Boulevard had chances of snatching victory near the end of regulation time when centre-back Leroy Stevens powered a drive over from 15 yards and then again right at the end of extra time when striker Vernon Symonds did likewise from just 12 yards.
These were just two costly chances that Boulevard put astray and coach Gary Mallory was correct when he stated that his team had enough opportunities to win it outright.
"We were in charge for most of the game, but we just didn't put the chances away. We really should have won it. But this game is now behind us and we have to look ahead to the next replay,'' said Mallory.
Dandy Town struck early with Troy Durham smartly heading home a Paul Cann corner after just 90 seconds.
However, Boulevard responded quickly enough with Vernon Eve putting a hard shot just over the bar and hard-working midfielder Carlos Pearman following this up by heading the equaliser from a corner taken by skipper Albert Smith.
Although Durham came close on two more occasions for Town, Boulevard pinned down their opponents for the rest of the half with Symonds, Dwight Warren, skipper Smith twice and Symonds again putting shots either wide or over the goal from positions inside the penalty box.
During an isolated raid after 38 minutes, Town came close when Lionel Cann gained possession of a fine cross from Paul Cann and shot poorly.
Town were allowed to come more into the game when play restarted with Durham and Paul Cann putting shots wide of the post from 15 yards.
Boulevard settled down, however, and began to take a decisive edge after 70 minutes and for the rest of the game they pinned down the defence. But the night continued to be frustrating for them when it came to shooting as skipper Smith, Symonds and Pearman put further shots wide.
Their best chance came from a superb piece of work by substitute Neil Robinson who somehow managed to get in behind the defence and cross from a deep angle on the right to Warren whose diving header sailed inches wide of the post after 84 minutes.
Then came the late miss by Stevens to deny Boulevard the victory they deserved in regulation time.
The best chance during extra time came when Symonds blasted a shot over from an angle on the left with just 15 seconds left.
